There is an old saying that goes "Ash before Oak, we’re in for a soak Oak before Ash, we’re in for a splash." And it looks as though it is ringing true this year with a lovely start to the summer. I hope you are all enjoying the lovely drying days and cute looking babies in their stylish washables.
Well, it seems like just the other day when I sent out my last newsletter but it was back in April for Real Nappy Week.
It was pretty exciting to see how much interest there is now in washable nappies compared with previous years at the roadshows. We had lots of younger parents approaching us for information at the nappy stands and I have noticed generally that there is a lot more awareness of the benefits, costs and ease of use as the myths of boil washing and soaking are slowly dispelled. Keep spreading the word.....

Nature Babies new products
Isobel from Nature Babies has been busy stitching and sewing and has come up with some great new nappies that are designed not only to make your baby look cute but save money in your pocket as well.
The Big Softie birth to potty nappy is made from high quality terry cotton with a soft fleece inner layer. The nappy is resized using poppers at the front and is designed to fit from 8lb to about 28lb. It comes with either nippa or popper fastening and 2 inserts. Try one and see what you think.
I am also pleased to announce the arrival of the ultimate budget birth to potty stuffable essentials nappy. This birth to potty stuffable nappy is plain white PUL available with popper or Velcro fastening and has been vigorously tested by a bunch of heavy wetters and came out with rave reviews. It has the same great leg gussets as all the best Nature Babies products and has slim side tabs to reduce the bulk.
Nature Babies product updates
The essential wrap is proving to be a huge success for all parents on a tight budget. It is a simple white PUL wrap (no funky fabrics) with multi sizing poppers in the front designed to fit from about 9lb to about 28lb in weight. It is based on the original medium classic popper wrap and is only £5.99 I think it is the perfect solution for a “no frills” washable nappy economy wrap.
The new stuffable Onesize VII nappies are creeping into stock as I replace the older version. Currently I have white, denim, purple & pink bubbles on the shelves but any of the original onesize fabrics can be ordered – just send me an email with your request.
Kits and Packs
Due also to the rise in popularity of the traditional terry squares I have put a pack together to get you started including 3 popular folds (in case your granny can’t remember how to do it).
Again this is a great nappy for the pocket and in fact I have put together a special price for a pack of 12 Big Softie nappies with essential wraps at a great money saving price.
I know how hard it is to choose a birth to potty nappy especially as there are so many on the market so hopefully this pack of three stuffable birth to potty nappies will help you to decide.
More new lines
Having just been through the pain of training our toddler out of nappies I realised I was missing the vital ingredient – training pants. Having looked at quite a few I have decided that the Imse Vimse pants are best. They have a good size range for the smaller kids as well as the larger ones, they are made from organic cotton and are super soft especially around the legs and offer decent protection from a small wee.
Finally in the new products section I have taken the plunge and decided to stock the Mooncup. If you haven’t heard of it click here for more details. It really is a new experience and highly recommended and I am a total convert.
