Loan Nappy Scheme
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why do you request 2 preferred dates?
A. There is a high demand for the service and a limited number of packs so your preferred dates may not be available or your request may overlap with another booking request. Bookings are made on a first come first served basis on receipt of completed forms.
Q. Why do you cash the deposit cheque?
A. The retail value of the pack is at least double the deposit amount and while we would love to supply without taking this precaution we just cannot afford to lose any of the stock as this service is not insured.
Q. Can I change any of the contents of the packs?
A. If there is a nappy that we stock that you particularly want to try then please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Q. How does the £20 voucher affect my eligibility for money back schemes from local councils?
A. We cannot vouch for any council schemes and advise that you contact your local council prior to using the voucher to ensure that you get the maximum money back for your purchase.
Q. Under what circumstances may you not issue the voucher?
A. In the unlikely circumstance that any loss or damage to the pack exceeds the value of the deposit.
Q. Can I use the voucher in conjunction with any other voucher issued by Nappy Central?
A. No, unfortunately the accounting system we use only permits us to allow one voucher per transaction.
Q. Can I keep the nappies I have been using and purchase them at a reduced price?
A. No, these nappies need to keep circulating as part of the loan packs so must be returned.
Q. Why do you specify that fabric conditioner must not be used?
A. Fabric conditioner coats the fibres of the fabric and affects the absorbency of the nappies. Vinegar is a harmless alternative.
Q. Is nappy rash more likely when using real nappies?
A. There is no evidence to support this claim and in fact nappy rash seems to be less likely with real nappies as they are usually changed more frequently. Nappy rash is generally caused by prolonged contact with urine and faeces.
